Eventhough Angelina Jolie has resign as a special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency (UNHCR) but she continues to be a humanitarian activist.
She shared a photo of her with refugees, whom she met in Adré, Chad recently on her Instagram and urged United Nations to "scale up the humanitarian response in Sudan and the region" as the U.N. held its 2024 General Assembly in New York City, with result in actions, not only talking. She tells, "Due to relentless war and violence, Sudan is currently experiencing the largest displacement crisis in the world, with over 10 million people internally displaced and more than 2 million fleeing to neighbouring countries. The situation is also compounded by mass starvation, as approximately 25.6 million people—over half the population—are facing acute hunger".
