Salma Hayek Pinault didn’t want to accept Angelina Jolie’s movie Without Blood at first, but Jolie managed to persuade her

Salma Hayek Pinault didn’t want to accept Angelina Jolie’s movie Without Blood at first, but Jolie managed to persuade her.

She told EW, "I didn’t want to do the movie. I didn’t want to be Nina. I didn’t want to go to the places that she’s been, emotionally. So I told Angie, I don’t want to do this woman. I don’t want to. It’s too painful. It’s taken so many years for me to get to a place in my life where I’m really happy. I don’t want to go suffer for weeks and weeks.”

She added, "You have to be at the edge every single day, every single hour of the day while you’re playing this character. And there’s nowhere to hide. There’s not a lot of action happening. If for one second you are not there, it is going to be very clear."

Jolie eventually persuaded Hayek Pinault to take on the challenging role.

Salma shared, "I was afraid to relieve personal trauma that is completely different. I think all of us women can identify some of our trauma to it. Being tossed aside. Men always making the important decisions in your life and having sometimes no choice but to go along with it. Being paralyzed by having your power taken away from a really young age. Having trauma and not knowing how to come out of it… And then finding the strength out of hate and anger."

Salma gushes about Jolie, saying that she is the best actor-director she has ever worked with.

She tells, "I’ve never felt so valued. She knew I was the right actress. I didn’t even know I was the right actress at the moment."

"I could call my director at three in the morning in absolute despair [because] if [it] meant she came over there in the middle of the night and held me, that’s what she would do."

Angelina Jolie's movie, "Without Blood" is about trauma and healing

Angelina Jolie's movie, "Without Blood" is about trauma and healing. Jolie wrote and directed this movie, starring Salma Hayek and Demián Bichir.

Jolie told People regarding about this movie, "I was drawn to Alessandro Baricco's beautifully written novel because it examines universal truths about conflict, memory and what it is to be human. I chose to stay very true to it. My approach was to shape and edit more than to write."

"The film is for anyone who seeks answers and healing after trauma. The book discusses how we often ‘return to where we break.’ That’s true for almost anyone. No one knows what someone else has gone through. To sit and talk with openness and honesty, is a beginning."

Talking about working with Salma, Jolie tells, "It was wonderful. I felt very fortunate to direct Salma, Demián and the rest of the cast and crew who worked incredibly hard."

"It’s a very challenging piece for actors who had to be very brave and emotionally open. Knowing her well helped to direct her but there was so much about her as a woman and a performer I was surprised by still and so impressed."

"I am excited for people to see her incredible work. To see her in a way she hasn’t been seen before."

James Haven, Angelina Jolie's brother, has revealed the truth he has been hiding for years

James Haven, Angelina Jolie's brother, has revealed the truth he has been hiding for years. Months after his split from former wife Romi Imbelli according to TMZ. He has come out as gay.

During a live appearance on Romi's Substack, the former couple discussed the evolution of their relationship and James' decision to reveal the truth.

On the live stream, James shared a letter reflecting on his journey with his s*xuality..

The letter says ... "When I was a little boy, I was absolutely obsessed with the Disney princesses. I would sneak glitter onto my cheeks, swipe mascara onto my lashes, and for those moments, I felt like magic."

"It was never about pretending to be someone else. It was about letting a part of myself shine that had always been there."

James shared that as he grew older, "I started wondering if that sparkle was something I had to hide to be accepted by the 'normal' boys around me. Like so many gay kids, I learned to question parts of myself long before I learned to celebrate them."

He shared that he was no longer willing to hide and was ready to live openly as his true self.

James said, "Not because he's changed, but because he's tired of hiding. Coming out isn't about becoming someone new, it's about allowing everyone else to meet the person who has been here all along."

His letter continued, "I hope my family and others can choose love over fear, understanding over judgment, and connection over the beliefs that may have kept us apart. I hope they can look beyond the labels and simply see me with the same heart, the same laugh, the same soul they've always known."

"That little boy with glitter on his face and mascara on his lashes was never confused, broken, or something to be ashamed of. He was simply gay. He was joyful. He was brave before he even knew it."
