Angelina Jolie wanted to be the leading lady in Silver Linings Playboook (2012) but Jennifer Lawrence manage to win the role eventhough she was too young that time, at the age of 22 years old.
The role was about an unstable young widow, which was supposed for older actress.
A source revealed, “Angelina desperately wanted the female lead in the movie ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’ It was a prime role with great dialogue, and Angelina campaigned hard for it. But once the director saw Jennifer’s audition, it was no contest. Jennifer blew her out of the water.”
Filmmaker David O. Russell revealed, "Quite frankly, (Lawrence's audition) was like a formality. I didn't think she was really a contender. We had three very serious contenders (already). We had a lot of major actresses in town interested in the role, from Angelina Jolie to some other big stars, because it's a dimensional role for a young woman. Jennifer we frankly thought was too young."
David O. Russell explained why Jennifer got the role, “She kind of has an ageless quality. She could be 20, she could be 40.”
Growing Pains actor Kirk Cameron understand what Angelina Jolie is going through as parents of large family. Kirk has two biological kids and four adopted kids.
And he understands when Angelina Jolie can't see difference between biological and adopted kids.
Cameron explained, "You forget who's adopted and who is not. The kids are 11, 10, nine, eight, seven and five-and-a-half. We feel like the Brady Bunch. There's never a dull moment".
"Everybody's got a friend at the house. For birthday parties you don't have to invite anybody else because everybody is there. It can be a bit harrowing at times because we don't have a nanny, so it is a commitment for my wife and I to raise these kids properly".
"But family is our highest priority. My wife even teaches classes at my kids' school on being a mom and being a wife."
Angelina Jolie didn't like hugging and finds it uncomfortable.
She told Vogue magazine, "I'm not a hugger. People make fun of me. It's something that I have a hard time with".
"If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging, crying - all that stuff makes me very uncomfortable".
"I've often been accused of not talking about my personal things. I mean, even with Brad. He usually has to draw something out of me".
"I have had a lot of people - ex-husbands - suggest that they'd be very open to being a shoulder to cry on. If I had the inclination, it would be very lovely if I could possibly let that go".
"But I have this odd sense of it's not going to accomplish anything to cry. It's not going to help you to get a hug!".
Angelina Jolie teamed up with Amnesty International to publish a book to have awareness among teenagers to learn about their rights.
She posted a photo of the books and each book has different language and captioned it "To claim your rights, you have to know what they are. Article 42 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child requires governments to ensure that children and parents are aware of the principles and rights enshrined in the convention. Pleased that our book on youth rights is now also being published in Albania, Kosovo, Poland, Romania and Moldova, and sending my respect to all the young activists defending child rights in the region and using their right to a voice".
Angelina Jolie and daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt spotted at the JFK airport on Thursday.
Both mother and daughter have been busy on a Broadway musical.
Jolie keeps her hair simple, tied into a bun and wore beige trenchcoat with grey top and grey long pants while daughter Vivienne wore blue long sleeve top with black long pants together with sneakers.
Initially Angelina Jolie didn't expect her own daughter Vivienne will be acting in Maleficent but she couldn't find anyone who wasn't afraid of her costume.
Angelina told Entertainment Weekly magazine, “We think it’s fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That's not our goal, for Brad and I, at all. But the other 3- and 4-year-old [performers] wouldn’t come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.”
Angelina Jolie's son Pax, who was 10 years old that time was scared of her costume.
She recalled, “When Pax saw me for the first time, he ran away and got upset - and I thought he was kidding, so I was pretending to chase him until I actually found him crying.”
