Angelina Jolie visited various Japanese artisans and makers

Angelina Jolie visited various Japanese artisans and makers. When it comes to Japanese culture, she said, “I don't want to pretend to know or understand Japanese culture, but I will say I’ve always felt that there’s a grace and an intention that seems to come from things that are made in Japan".

In one of her visits, she met Mitsugu Sasaki, who, together with his wife, remakes of antique fabrics and clothing from 50 to 60 years ago, using technique of sashiko.

According to Mitsugu, “Sashiko was developed in Tohoku over a hundred years ago. People had nothing but hemp to endure the freezing winters and so created this technique to enhance insulation".

"Also known as ranru, sashiko is recognized not just as a sustainable way to mend clothing and make it more durable, but as an art form in itself".

“Clothes can last over a hundred years with continuous sashiko, and their value doesn't diminish".

Now her daughter Vivienne was listed as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill for The Outsiders.

Another shocking news is Shiloh also has dropped "Pitt" from her name as when her teacher tagged her on one of the videos on Instagram, her last name only pertains "Jolie". Further more, this is a surprise since the media always mention her close bond with her dad.

Angelina Jolie doesn't think woman need to be tough to be considered strong

Angelina Jolie doesn't think woman need to be tough to be considered strong.

She tells, "I think that, so often, when a story's told which says 'this is a strong woman', she has to beat the man, or she has to be like the man, or she has to somehow not need the man".

"We both very much need and love and learn from the men.

"And so I think that's also an important message for young girls, to find their own power, but to respect and learn from the men around them."

Referring to Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, she tells, "We have strong women, but the character that is wrong in the film and has to be taken out is also a woman. We show very diverse types of women between our characters, but also we have extraordinary men in the film, and I really want to press that point."
