Reasonably Shady Podcast” host Robyn Dixon asked Gizelle Bryant about Angelina Jolie because both Angelina Jolie’s and Gizelle’s daughters are studying at Spelman College, and they were spotted taking a photo together at the Pearls of Purpose Foundation.
Then Gizelle shared, "Zahara, her daughter, Angelina Jolie's daughter goes to Spellman. She's a senior. She's about to graduate. She's one of Angel's pros. So, she got into the sorority before Angel".
"Been very kind to Angel and kind of like been very big sisterly to her and they have a relationship and it's very sweet to me".
"She really felt like she could help. Not that me and Angelina are in the same public sphere. However, there's similarities. And Zahara definitely wanted to help Angelina from that perspective, I think, as much as she could".
"Which I think is so sweet. I think Zahara knew like Angel might have some needs and was there for her".
"There was a mother daughter luncheon and Zahara asked Angel if I could come. We were like their guests. So, we sat at their table and it was great."
"Angelina was just like a regular mom. Like she was like in mom mode. She seems very cool. She was partaking in everything".
"Then I said to Angelina,'You know what?It is you know, obvious Zahara was raised, right?Cuz she's like the sweetest,kindest, smart 21 year old, however'".
"I told her, 'Angelina, it's amazing you decided to allow her to go Spellman and be part of her culture".
Jolie then said. "Well, you know, I felt like that's what was needed".
Gizelle then said, "No. What you don't understand is you knew that's what she needed. That's what's amazing because a lot of white people don't even know Spellman exists".
"You knew you were raising a black woman and she could highly benefit from being around people that look like her and studied like her and danced like her and party like her".
