ANGELINA - have you been tested for Hep C? Did You
Know That?...
The hepatitis C virus is transmitted via blood, it is NOT and STD and many people got the virus as a result of a tatoo or body piercing???
The hepatitis C virus is four times more prevalent than HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and is the most common reason for liver transplants in the USA? It affects about 4.5 million Americans, with 30,000 new cases diagnosed every year.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the regions
with the highest rates of hep C infection in 1999 were Africa (5.3%) and the Eastern Mediterranean (4.6%)?

The country with the highest infection rate is Egypt - 20% of military recruits (young and otherwise healthy)?

During the American Civil War alone, at least 70,000 soldiers fell ill with infectious hepatitis?

It is estimated that 4 million people in the USA, and 100 million to 150 million people worldwide, are infected with the hepatitis C virus?

Projections based on the incidence of hepatitis C from the late 1970s through to the early 1990s (up to 240,000 new cases per year) suggest that mortality related to hepatitis C will triple by the year 2015?

Globally, an estimated 170 million people (3% of the world's population) have chronic HCV infection and 3 to 4 million people are newly infected each year (WHO)?

Help us find a CURE!!
