Angelina told Glamour magazine: "I was really nervous, thinking, 'She's such an intelligent European woman - what are we going to do together?' So we went to this serious existential play, it seemed like the right thing and it was supposed to be OK for kids."

Angelina Jolie was in Washington DC yesterday to help promote the Global Action for Children pressue group.

The organisation was opening its Washington headquarters and is currently campaigning for the American government to commit another $2.5 billion to child education and aid.

The actress told reporters, “This is a happy day. It is not often enough these children are represented in this town.Our government has the power to choose which path these children take. We know the consequences of inaction."

Angelina Jolie urge more donations for orphans

Angelina Jolie appeared at a press conference in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to announce the launch of Global Action for Children, a group that raises money for orphans in developing countries. She has adopted three children.

At the event, she said "I am here to simply ask you to think about orphaned children not as a burden but as a great opportunity.Their education is an investment in our future. ... She says, "I don't want to act like the Mother Teresa of Hollywood. I quite simply want to help where there is poverty and destitution. Am I the only one who thinks and acts like that?
