By the Sea" movie was a personal movie for Angelina Jolie because she was inspired by the grief of losing her mother in 2007.
She explained, "When you write something from a blank page, it's very hard to say, 'This is important,' because you don't know: It's your own life. It's your own depression. It's your own questions about your mother. Grief. Where to put your pain".
"For me, it was important to try to do it. And it was important to try to do it for my mother. It was important for myself. And it was wonderful to work with Brad, and for us to be able to get through it together, because we tested ourselves to see if we could do something like this together."
By the Sea is a slow, quiet drama about a wealthy American couple vacationing on the French seaside. Roland (Pitt) plans to write while there but mostly spends his time drinking. Vanessa (Jolie Pitt) hopes to relax, yet instead becomes withdrawn and reliant on pills. The two largely avoid each other, and their relationship is clearly strained. Their dynamic begins to shift when they befriend—and secretly observe—a newlywed couple on their honeymoon.
Angelina Jolie has to share private emails and texts about selling her part of the vineyard.
An insider told Page Six that the emails would prove Jolie wasn’t honest from the start about why she wanted to sell her share of the business.
Jolie must submit the communications within 45 days.
Paul Murphy, Jolie’s attorney, stated to Page Six that they were disappointed by the court’s reading of California’s privilege law.
The attorney said, "The court’s ruling violates that law, undermines Ms. Jolie’s fundamental right to a fair trial, and represents yet another manifestation of Mr. Pitt’s years-long effort to harass and control her. We will appeal".
Nicole Kidman got to play as Dr. Kay Scarpetta, that was originally offered to Angelina Jolie.

Angelina Jolie explains why she wanted to reveal her mastectomy scars in TIME France. She explained, "I share these scars with many women I love. And I'm always moved when I see other women share theirs. I wanted to join them, knowing that TIME France would be sharing information about breast health, prevention, and knowledge about breast cancer."
Jolie was also asked why she chose to wear her mother’s jewelry while filming but not during the interview. She tells, "I rarely wear it because it contains her ashes; I don't want to lose it."

She shared at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where she received the event's highest honour, the Maltin Modern Master Award, 'My mother would write letters to my characters - Dear Gia, Dear Lisa Rowe, Dear Lara Croft - and for the last 16 years, I haven't had those letters.'
She reflects on what her mother might have written to her role, real-life opera singer Maria Callas, "I try to imagine sometimes what she would write, and she would probably have told Maria that she loved her because Maria had many things but she never had a mother's love".
"I would be absolutely nothing without mine. She passed away many years ago at this time of year, so it's always this weather that reminds me of her".
"And that feeling and that sensibility that makes that actually hard for me is part of what is my work and what connects many artists to their work, and I know I'm not alone in this."
Angelina Jolie is pouring years of emotional pain into her performance.
Jolie's upcoming movie, "Sunny" is directed by Eva Sørhaug and she will play a female gangster who fights to protect her sons — and herself — from an abusive drug kingpin. But when a devastating event occurs, she only has a matter of hours to plot their permanent escape.

She is channeling everything in her past, from the divorce from Brad and their Château battle, and she has not been holding back in the way it will come out in her performance."
